Gehacktes mit Hörnli
[Ground ‘beef’ with macaroni]
Ingredients for 4 people:
3 sourish apples (e.g. Boskoop)
1-2 tablespoons of sugar
1 stick of cinnamon
1 finely chopped onion
30 g butter (or vegan alternative)
1 «The Green Mountain» ground
2 teaspoons of tomato paste
1 dl bouillon
1 bay leaf
300 g Hörnli [macaroni]
100 g grated Sbrinz hard cheese (or vegan alternative)
2 sprigs of parsley, plucked
So, here’s what you do:
Peel the apples, cut into quarters, core, and coarsely chop the fruit. Place in a pan, add sugar, cinnamon stick and 1 dl water. Bring to a boil over low heat, simmer covered over a very low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Heat butter in pan, sauté ground and onions while stirring. Add in tomato paste and briefly sauté with the rest. Add in bouillon and bay leaf. Gently simmer for about 10 minutes. Season with salt and little pepper.
In the meantime, prepare hörnli [macaroni] according to the package directions.
Serve hörnli with ground. If desired, sprinkle with cheese and parsley to taste and serve with applesauce.
